TRAVELING EXPERIENCES

WEDDINGS IN THE BEACH

To get married in front of the sea, overwhelmed by an almost infinite landscape, is a rather extraordinary experience and ideal for the free souls. Mexico is a country which has many beach destinations where to say "I do" in front of the open sea.

The magnificent sunsets that bade the beaches of the Pacific Ocean in incredible colors, will crown the day of your wedding and make sure it will be the best day of your life. These beaches you will find for example in Los Cabos in southern Baja California, in Mazatlán in the state of Sinaloa, in Puerto Vallarta and Costalegre in Jalisco, in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and Acapulco in Guerrero as well as in Puerto Escondido and Huatulco in the state of Oaxaca. Or perhaps you prefer the tranquility and tepidness of waters in the Gulf of Mexico or the paradise-like scenario that is offered by the Caribbean Sea with its white sand and turquoise tones of the water. Such earthly paradises you fill find for example in Cancún, Isla Mujeres, Cozumel, and Playa del Carmen as well as in Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, Xcaret, Akumal and Playacar.

Forget the traditions and give yourself a beach wedding which can be exactly as elegant or simple as you wish it to be. As being in contact with the earth barefoot and letting the breeze caress your face while the swells stroke the coastline, your vows of a shared life will obtain more solemn significance. Both the bride and the groom will look good in white linen, the bride perhaps with pearls adorning her hair or with a headdress made of seashells and flowers. Your guests will enjoy white divans facing the waves and flanked by pillars tied and decorated with veils and chiffon. A canopy could well act as the altar and beyond it there could be tables with bowls full of seafood amongst the exotic flowers and on one side the wines and liquors. The decorative elements could be related to sea: shells, starfish, mermaids, dolphins, palm trees and waves. The colors that tend to be suggested to these kinds of ceremonies are whites, blues and tones of silver or pale yellows.  The food should naturally be based on seafood, but a lovely barbeque with some tasty meat would not be such a bad idea either! The beverages could be served in coconut shells and decorated with seashells and flowers and the tables could be adorned with shells with tropical flowers or fishbowls full of sand and seashells, white gardenias floating on the water or even vividly colored fish! If you plan to have the party during the midday, sunshades and umbrellas are indispensable. White will keep you fresh during the daytime and has a romantic tone in the evening: it is up to you to decide how much white you want to use. There are private beaches where you will find all the intimacy in the world for more eccentric ways to celebrate the day and where disco music will not bother anybody. Use candles, many candles: bury them in the sand or put them in bowls or on the tables but try not to use electric light! To get married in the beach, on a boat or to arrive on a sailing boat to the beach where the guests are waiting are some of the options of how to build the ceremony. Since these kinds of weddings have already become increasingly popular, almost all the beaches have the facilities to organize them and people who can help you and provide you with suggestions, always respecting your personal wishes. The majority of these places have different packages which include everything from the live music, decorations and the menu to the procedures with respect to the civil or religious ceremony. The whole of the Mexican coast will offer you its beautiful beaches, its abundant vegetation and its incomparable skies under which you can also enjoy our traditions, our handicrafts, delicious food and the friendliness and openness that characterize the Mexicans. We will do everything to make sure that your wedding in the beach will be an event you will never forget!
